What is CodeAscent Kids?
CodeAscent Kids is an educational app that teaches children ages 3 and up the fundamentals of real Python programming and AI concepts through playful, narrated missions. It has two learning tracks — Little Pilots and Code Cadets — and runs entirely on-device.
Is the app free? What does a subscription include?
The app is free to download and includes a set of free missions. An optional Full Access subscription unlocks all 40+ missions across both learning tracks, plus new badges and rewards. You can choose an Annual plan or a Monthly plan.
Is there a free trial?
Where offered, the Annual plan includes an introductory free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then in your Apple ID subscription settings to avoid being charged.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open the upgrade screen in the app (behind the parental gate) and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, your Full Access will be restored.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your device, go to Settings → [your name / Apple ID] → Subscriptions, select CodeAscent Kids, and choose to change or cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
How do refunds work?
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are requested through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for CodeAscent Kids. If you need a hand, email us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Why does the app ask a math question before settings?
That's the parental gate — a quick arithmetic challenge that keeps young children from changing settings, switching learning levels, or starting a purchase without a grown-up. It's a standard safeguard for apps in the Kids Category.
How do I reset my child's progress?
Open the “Grown-Ups Only” dashboard (behind the parental gate) and choose to reset progress. This erases all local progress — missions, stars, badges, and XP — and cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app also deletes all local data.
Does the app collect my child's data?
No. CodeAscent Kids collects no personal data, shows no ads, and uses no analytics or tracking. All progress is stored on your device and never leaves it. The only optional network activity is processing a subscription through Apple's App Store. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What languages and ages are supported?
CodeAscent Kids fully supports English and Spanish, and is designed for children ages 3 and up, with content that grows in difficulty across the two learning tracks.
The app isn't working correctly — what should I do?
First, make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store and try restarting the app. If the issue continues, email support@codeascent.online with your device model and iOS version and a short description, and we'll help you out.
